Puerto Varas
PUERTO VARAS

Situated just 21 km from Puerto Montt on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, Puerto Varas is known as "the city of roses" for its many flower-lined streets. The best way to see the town is to walk from one end to the other and observe their unmistakable German-inspired architecture. One of the highlights is the colorful and impressive Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, which was founded in 1853 by the German and Swiss colonists who came to populate the south of Chile.

Frutillar
FRUTILLAR

Frutillar is a city situated on the west shore of Lake Llanquihue. It lies 25 km away from Puerto Varas. The first houses in the city were raised around the bay by the early settlers. Afterwards, the first German immigrants, who left a deep imprint on the local traditions and architecture, settled down in the area. The city waterfront is populated by ancient houses featuring German architecture and a yacht club for lovers of nautical activities.

Petrohue falls
PETROHUE FALLS

The falls go from the Todos los Santos lake to the Petrohue river to and it is surrounded by an exhuberant vegetation. This is the main attraction of the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park (the oldest in Chile). This raging, sparkling waterfall runs through a volcanic rock canyon and is best admired from a boat. Fans of adventure sports can take a day to go hiking in the canyon, rafting or kayaking.

Peulla
PEULLA

Peulla is a small ecological town with 120 inhabitants that is part of the famous Cruce Andino tourist circuit. Peulla is located in the international road to Bariloche in Argentina. It has a good tourist infrastructure, beautiful vegetation and colorful landscapes like Gemelas and Los Novios waterfalls, as well as the Cayutue Lake and the Peulla River.

Chiloe Island
CHILOE ISLAND

The archipelago of Chiloé is composed of 30 islands. The colorful houses on stilts, or palafitos, have become one of the classic images of Chiloé as have its 18th and 19th century wooden churches,. The most important cities are Ancud, Castro and Quellon. You can visit the Puñihuil colony of Magellanic and Humboldt penguins which can be seen in the summer season. This is the only place in the Pacific where these species are found as they migrate in the summer season.
