ATTRACTIONS IN CENTRAL VALLEY

Santiago de Chile
SANTIAGO DE CHILE

Santiago de Chile is a surprising city. Surrounded by the majestic quality of the Andes Mountains, it is possible to admire the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, The Metropolitan Cathedral and the noted Club Hípico. Walking along its main avenue, Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins, with its pedestrian promenades which lead to Plaza de Armas filled with historical buildings, Santa Lucia Hill, and the Parque Forestal with the Mapocho river to its side is a true adventure.

Valparaiso
VALPARAISO

Valparaiso lies 120 km from Santiago. Valparaiso is a city nestled in a natural amphitheater, surrounded by 45 mounts that fall abruptly into the sea. This city tells the basis of its development through its historical architecture, its traditions and its art. The fifteen funiculars working in the very core of Valparaíso are an important part of the identity of the porteño and they make up a transportation system essential for the vertical development of the city.

Viña del Mar
VIÑA DEL MAR

Known as the “Garden City”, Viña del Mar is considered the tourist capital of Chile. Viña del Mar lies 120 kilometers from Santiago. Its main tourist attractions include 13 delicious beaches bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. Thousands of tourists are summoned there to enjoy the sunshine and the sand. In such sense, the Reñaca is the main bathing resort in the city and it has an important infrastructure to welcome the tourist.

Isla Negra
ISLA NEGRA

Located in the south shore of Valparaiso. Due to its favorable weather conditions, you can enjoy swimming, outdoor activities and different sports. The area has a very important cultural and natural patrimony known all over the world. You can visit the Pablo Neruda´s house, which it's now a museum. The Nobel prize winner wrote part of his many creations here, surrounded by the things he loved the most, and a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean.

Pomaire
POMAIRE

The village of Pomaire is known for its artisan ceramic production. This is one of the major handmade crafts centers. You will find clay pots and cooking vessels in every shape and size imaginable as you stroll through this picturesque little town. Chilean food, chicha and “dulces de Curacavi” are part of the traditional gastronomy that visitors can enjoy here.

Maipo Valley
MAIPO VALLEY

Maipo Valley is one of the central region's most iconic valleys and is home to some of the deepest wine-producing roots in Chile. It was here that the conquistadors founded Chile's first vineyards after experiencing the wonders of its climate and agricultural richness. This valley is enriched by the river of the same name and you can find here several wineries like Undurraga, Cousiño Macul, Santa Rita or the famous Concha & Toro.

Casablanca Valley
CASABLANCA VALLEY

Just 80 km from Santiago and 41 km from Valparaíso, the Casablanca Valley is yet another valley that cuts across Central Chile from the mountains to the sea. Today Casablanca is one of Chile's major winegrowing valleys for white varieties and has a well developed wine tourism industry. If you want to enjoy a glass of fine white wine, just visit one of the dozens of wineries dotted around the Casablanca landscape.

Colchagua Valley
COLCHAGUA VALLEY

The Colchagua Valley has been compared by many to Napa Valley in California, and it is home to many of Chile’s top red wines and the most developed tourism infrastructure. You can find here excellent wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah and Malbec. You also can visit the amazing Colchagua Museum. This was designed to incorporate the concept of a journey through the history of the planet and humankind in the Americas.

La Campana National Park
LA CAMPANA NATIONAL PARK

Follow in Darwin´s footsteps by visiting La Campana National Park. This unique park which was designated a UNESCO “Biosphere Reserve” because it protects the ancient Chilean Palms some of which are over 400 years old. Fauna is very important as well, and here you can find quiques, culpeo foxes, chingues, partridges, aguiluchos, owls and codornices.
